Christmas Market this weekend at farm shop

The Christmas season really begins this weekend at a farm shop near Bridgnorth. The indoor Apley Christmas Market has free entry & is a great day out for all the family. Many of Shropshire’s finest food producers will be present to showcase their products. Visitors will also find Shropshire artisan crafters, offering unique handmade Christmas presents, including candles, cushions, jewellery & even shark's teeth. Apley’s own staff will be showcasing their own products, handmade onsite all year round, including our award winning mince pies.

Barn Owl visiting Severn Valley Country Park

Shropshire Council rangers at Severn Valley Country Park are delighted to be welcoming the chairman of World Owl Trust for an evening talk held in the visitor centre. Alan Peace will be giving an illustrated talk examining the plight of the barn owl. This beautiful bird is the most endangered owl in the UK.

Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre Launches 50 Mile, Mass Participation Walk!

Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre in Craven Arms is set to launch a brand new mass participation challenge walk next year. The “Shropshire Way 80K” will be taking in some of the finest parts of the Shropshire hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the route is 80km (50 miles) in length with the aim being to complete the circuit in less than 24 hours. The route follows almost exclusively the Shropshire way on either the Main Route or its subsidiary paths.

A farm shop near Bridgnorth has just installed possibly the tallest Christmas tree in Shropshire. Apley Farm Shop’s courtyard is now decorated with a huge Norway Spruce Christmas tree, ready for the two day Apley Christmas Market, 10-4pm on Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th November.

A controversial Sculpture of King Midas gets nationwide press coverage.

e British Ironwork Centre's latest creation has been unveiled at the British ironwork Centre. The sculpture, made from two thousand £1 and £2 coins resembles the legendary myth of 'King Midas', the king whose gift of turning everything to gold became a curse.
